OREO Cheesecake

Made this for a family get-together today. And it was awesome. Everyone loves it! Alhamdulillah! Recipe was simple, in fact I used the same basic cheesecake recipe minus the chocolate and added Oreos instead. Somehow, Oreo biscuits have always made cakes taste extra yummy. Try it and taste it for yourself :)

You'll need about 2 tubes (about 28 pieces)of Oreo biscuits for this...or more if you love Oreo (like me).

OREO Cheesecake.

Preheat oven to 180deg.

Prepare 20cm (8") spring-form tin by laying the inside with aluminium foil and lightly grease the base and sides of the foil. This is to allow easy removal of the cheesecake and easy cleaning of the pan :)

Prepare Crust with:
200gm Oreos (use them with the cream filling). This comes to about 14 pcs +/-.
- if you think that this is too rich for you, you may use sweet biscuits or Digestive       biscuits. Or maybe a mix of both...your choice :)
100gm melted butter
- mix these 2 ingredients together and pour at the base of the springform tin. Using
the palm of the hand, pat down the crust to make it compact. Leave pan in the
freezer while you prepare the cream cheese filling.

Filling:
500gm cream cheese (leave at room temperature for at least 1hr to soften)
3/4 cups castor sugar
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream (you may substitute this with natural yoghurt)
1/4 cup flour
A dash of vanilla essence.
1 tube Oreo biscuits.

Method:
Beat cheese till soft. Add sugar and continue to beat till sugar dissolves.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.

Add sourcream and then slowly add in the flour.

Break 8 pieces of Oreos (together with cream filling) and add to the cream mix. Stir.

Remove pan from freezer. Pour cream mix in the pan and use leftover Oreos to top  the mix. (Or you may want to crush them and use it on the baked cake instead.)

Place pan in a bain-marie ( a bigger base tray/pan filled with hot water) and put in the oven to bake for about 50mins. If the top browns too quickly, cover top with aluminium foil.

Off oven. Leave cake in the oven with door ajar for at least one hour to cool.

Cover cake with foil and chill for at least 4hrs or overnight to set.

Decorate with more crushed Oreos (with filling) and drizzle with melted chocolate.

Enjoy *~~
