EASY HOME-MADE PIZZA - Hawaiian Style

It's one of those days when you just don't know what to cook. Browsing through the recipe books didn't help much either. Abang and Adik didn't want to have Nasi (rice) for dinner and I was not in the mood for any heavy cooking too. Then I thought let's try this new pizza recipe....and there you go...dinner is served! It has a thick crust, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Simple pizza base...top it up with anything you fancy. This time we had chicken pepperoni with mushrooms, pineapple and onions. Yummy!

Makes 2 medium sized pizzas

Pizza crust:
2 1/2 cups of bread (high protein) flour
3/4 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 tablespoon of olive oil
2 teaspoon of instant yeast
7/8 cup of warm water

Topping:
Tomato sauce
Pepperoni/sausages
Onions, Mushrooms, Pineapples bits.

Cheese...some grated Mozarella + Cheddar
Extra Parmessan if you like.

* If you're using the breadmaker, place the ingredients according to manufacturer's suggestion and switch to dough mode.

Method:
Place flour, salt, sugar, yeast in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. Add in the olive oil and warm and slowly incorporate the flour into a soft dough. Continue kneading till you get a smooth dough that doesn't stick to the bowl. Transfer to a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave in a warm place to proof for about 45mins to 1 hr for the dough to rise double the size.

When the dough has risen well. Place it on a floured board. Let it rest for a while and then knock it down to get rid of excess air. Then divide it into 2 portions. Roll into circles and let rest for about 20mins.

Preheat oven to 225 deg celcius while waiting.( I placed the topping as soon as the oven was hot enough...I didn't wait for the dough to rise again...) Couldn't wait...boys were hungry :)

Place the toppings and bake till crust has fluffed up and cheese golden.

Enjoy!
