Morroccan Beef Kefta

This dish is one of my kids' favourites. You can eat it with hot steaming Pillaf or Biryani Rice or tuck in your pita bread  to make a scrumptious and hearty sandwich snack. Or perfect for the barbie. It's simple and so delicious :)

Morrocan Beef Kefta

700 gms minced beef (you may even substitute this to minced lamb..yumm)
2 large onions, peeled and finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
3/4 tablespoon powdered cumin
1cm ginger, peeled and finely chopped (optional)
6 sprigs parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
salt
black pepper
** I used the easy way of of chopping up all the onions, herbs and spices in an electric chopper before mixing them into the minced beef. I also added a wee-bit of fennel for balance of taste.

1 lemon, cut into wedges (to be served as garnishing with the cooked keftas)

Method
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together except for the lemon wedges.
- Shape the mixture around metal skewers (I used Satay bamboo skewers) and grill, periodically rotating the skewers, over medium heat until well cooked. You may even pan fry the keftas in a little olive oil until kefta is cooked.
- Serve warm with the lemon wedges.

Try it!
